Purpose

Newcastle City Council and Live Theatre intend
to work together to deliver a new, state of the art recording
studio within a building within their portfolio. Funding in the
region of £1.8m to deliver the works would come from the
North East Combined Authority. We are seeking a decision to
authorise the Assistant Director Legal Services to complete the
required documentation to facilitate delivery (including the
partnering agreement with Live Theatre), and to finalise the Grant
Funding Agreement with the North East Combined Authority
(NECA).

Authorise entry into Grant Funding Agreement (GFA) with the North
East Combined Authority in our role as lead applicant for the
Quayside Recording Studio project.

Authorise the award of funding to Live Theatre and entry into Grant
Funding Agreement (GFA) with them to allow them to deliver the
Quayside Recording Studio project.

Authorise the Assistant Director Legal Services to conclude any
required documentation required to implement this decision.
