Purpose

This report seeks a delegated decision to vary
the City of Newcastle upon Tyne (Off Street Parking Places Order)
2021 to introduce parking charges for the period 7.00pm until
midnight on Friday and Saturday nights at Grainger Town MSCP and
Dean Street MSCP and to keep the car parks open 24 hours during
this period.

The Service Manager,
Parking Services is recommended:
To authorise the
advertising of the proposals described in this report (section 4.1
and 4.5) and, if no objections are received to the proposals, to
vary City of Newcastle upon Tyne (Off Street Parking Places
Order)
To note that this is a
trial. If the proposal set out in this decision report is
implemented following the required statutory consultation
processes, the Council will monitor its effectiveness for a period
of 6 months. If the project is not successful after 6 months, then
the Council may consult on reversing the legal order amendments and
reverting back to the current operational arrangements.
