Full council record
Purpose

The Grainger Market
Wayfinding project is part of a larger, UK Shared Prosperity Fund
(SPF) funded programme of public realm improvements which
complement Creative Central NCL’s buildings-related capital
schemes. The proposal will fund creative wayfinding signage and
wayfinding commissions in Grainger Market. The project includes a
robust engagement programme for market traders. These activities
are aligned with our Creative Central NCL programme and our
inclusive economy priorities, as it supports our local cultural and
creative industries.
To ensure the project
can be delivered in a timely fashion, we need to enter into a
contract with the preferred artist. The artist, Jed Buttress was
procured through an open call and three additional rounds of
interviews, all of which were competitive. The contract has been
drafted with the assistance of Legal Services.
