Purpose

The purpose of this
report is to approve the awards, via grant funding agreement of up
to £150,000 to NE1 Limited for the production of the
City’s New Years Event and £12,000 to DS Media and
Events as a contribution towards the cost of producing the Hogman
Howay 5km running event on New Year’s Eve.

Content

To approve the grant
of up to £150,000 to NE1 ltd to cover costs of Newcastle upon
Tyne’s New Year’s Eve event on the Quayside.
To approve the grant
of £12,000 to DS Media and Events as a contribution towards
the costs of producing the Hogman Howay 5km running event on New
Years Eve.
Agree the delegation
of authority to the Principal Advisor Event and Culture to
coordinate the distribution of funding and finalise any legal
agreement in consultation with the Assistant Director of Legal
Services.
