Purpose
The purpose of this report is to request that
a slightly amended version of NCC’s Lettings Policy 2017 is
agreed (Appendix 1). The changes are required in accordance with
the regulation for The Allocation of Housing (Qualification
Criteria for Victims of Domestic Abuse and Care Leavers) (England)
Regulations 2025 and subsequent amendments to the statutory
guidance on the Allocation of accommodation: guidance for local
housing authorities in England.
The regulations and code of guidance introduced changes to the
rules relating to qualification and local connection, and awarding
preference to victims of domestic abuse and care leavers.
