Purpose
To seek a delegated decision to accept the Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) Capability funding and enter into a grant funding agreement with the North East Combined Authority. The funding supports the staffing resource to deliver the regions LEVI scheme.
One of the Council’s key commitments is reducing the City’s carbon emissions as agreed in the Newcastle Net Zero Action Plan 2030. This includes encourage the use of electric vehicles and installing the infrastructure required to support this, Newcastle City Council is already working on the LEVI scheme, the Capability funding is for the continued staffing resource to deliver the scheme.
Decision
To approve entry into the Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Fund Capacity Grant 2025-2026 Grant Funding Agreement between (1) The Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne and (2) The North East Mayoral Combined Authority.
To authorise the Assistant Director Legal Services (or representative) to complete the necessary legal documents.
