This report will update Cabinet on council housing performance and compliance during quarter one of 2026-2027.

Summary

Consideration was given to a report which updated on Council housing performance, regulatory compliance and improvement activity during Quarter 1 of 2026/27.

Decision

That Cabinet agreed to:

i)  Note the annual report to tenants 2025/26

ii)  Note the Quarter 1 performance and progress against the consumer standards

iii)  Approve the draft void management policy and fencing policy

iv)  Note the Regulatory Action Plan and performance arrangements.

Reasons for the Decision

Performance reporting is a central part of our regulatory assurance framework to allow Cabinet to monitor progress and maintain a focus on outcomes for residents.

Alternative Options Considered and Rejected

Retain current reporting and assurance arrangements. This was not recommended because it would provide less clarity on performance, weaken the visibility of regulatory improvement and limit opportunities for tenants and Members to scrutinise progress.
