Purpose

This report will provide scrutiny’s comments on the Draft Council Plan, in advance of Cabinet finalising recommendations to be submitted to City Council.

Summary

Consideration was given to a report which outlined the findings and recommendations of the Corporate Scrutiny Committee task and finish review of the Draft Council Plan. The review provided pre-decision scrutiny of the Plan.

Decision

That Cabinet agreed to consider the findings and recommendations of the scrutiny task and finish review of the draft Council Plan, specifically:

-  The Corporate Scrutiny Committee observations in paragraph 1.5 of the report.

-  The findings and recommendations in section four of the Spotlight Task and Finish Group report in Appendix one of the  report.

-  Provide a written response within two months, as required by section 9FE paragraph 4 of the Local Government Act 2000.

Reasons for the Decision

Cabinet invited the Council’s scrutiny function to scrutinise the draft Council Plan and the finding and recommendations in the report cover both strategic and practical matters that affect the Council, residents and stakeholders.
