Purpose

To seek approval for the granting of a land license to Great Run Company Limited for the use of Town Moor as the start area of the Great North Run on 13th September 2026 with site access from Thursday 10th September 2026. The parts of the Town Moor to be licensed are shown in the plan

Decision

The Director of Housing & Communities is recommended to approve the grant of a Land License to Great Run Company Limited, company number 03300783, permitting use of the property for the purposes of the start line and gathering point for attendees taking part in the Great North Run 2026, including on site facilities such as toilets, baggage buses, information points; along with a broadcasting and production area for the live televised element of the event. The provided set up is as stated in the Event Safety Management Plan during the event and other Works at the Property over the duration of the Licence Period.

To authorise the Assistant Director Law and Governance to complete the necessary documentation.
