Full council record

Purpose

In 2025, we commenced a range of small-scale capital projects focused on public realm improvements within the city centre. The projects included creative artwork and lighting in Forth Lane and Pink Lane; a creative wayfinding and signage scheme that guides the public from Central Station to the city centre using major and minor interventions in the public realm; and creative wayfinding signage and wayfinding commissions in Grainger Market.
The work is being fully funded by the North East Mayoral Strategic Authority
We are seeking agreement to enter into various landowner licence agreements to install small sculptures (called Creative Critters) onto various buildings as part of the above mentioned creative wayfinding project.

Decision

Authorise signing landowner license agreements with landowners to install small sculptures, called Creative Critters.
