The Overview and Scrutiny Committee of Newham Council on 6 July 2026 resolved to recommend to Cabinet that manifesto pledges be included within the scope of the Parking Review, that clearer detail be provided on parking charging structures, and that the Foreword be revised to distinguish between the Parking Review and manifesto pledges. The Committee also recommended that the Parking Review be renamed to reflect its scope and affected groups, that delegated authority wording be reconsidered, and that greater detail be included on stakeholder engagement plans. Furthermore, the Committee recommended that reports include a clear assessment of financial implications, that evidence sources be clearly identified, that pavement parking and dropped kerbs be included in the review scope, and that the process for reviewing disabled parking bays be considered for improvements. Finally, the Committee recommended that clarity be provided on the prioritisation process for parking issues on housing estates and that the clarity, consistency, and accessibility of parking signage and restrictions be considered.

The Cabinet of Newham Council on 21 July 2026 was recommended to adopt the Medium-Term Financial Strategy as the basis for ongoing budget planning. The strategy includes assumptions and financial projections for the five-year period from 1 April 2027 to 31 March 2032.

The Corporate Director of Children's and Young People's Services of Newham Council on 15 July 2026 approved the award of a works contract to South Park Heating Services Limited for decarbonisation works at Central Park Primary School. The contract value is £775,574.
