Purpose

On 24th February 2022, Cabinet approved the
procurement of refurbishment works to the block by way of call off
from the LHC Framework to appoint a single supplier to undertake
the works.  This report will seek
approval to award the contract.

Decision:
 
For the reasons set out in
the report and its appendices Cabinet RESOLVED to Agree:
 
i) 
The award of contract to Equans Regeneration Limited in the sum of
£9,082,437.69 for the refurbishment, modernisation and
retrofit of Hamara Ghar to start in January 2024.
 
ii) 
To increase the total budget provision for the project from
£9m to a sum up to £10.8m to be met from uncommitted
capital allocations within the Retrofit Programme budget.
 
Alternatives
Considered
 

a) 
Undertake the works in-house – not an option;
the Council’s in-house repair and maintenance team, RMS, does
not have the capacity to undertake works of this nature.

 

b) 
Do not award - not an option as this will result in
the failure to meet the council's obligations as
landlord.
