Purpose

This report seeks approval to award a contract
to refurbish Beckton Community
Centre.  A tender process has been
completed and a successful contractor identified to deliver the
works. This report recommends that the contract should be awarded
to Olli Construction Ltd in the sum of £1,498,112.99 for the
refurbishment of Beckton Community
Centre.

Decision

For the reasons set out in
the report and its appendices Cabinet RESOLVED to AGREE:
 
i) 
The award of contract to Olli Construction Ltd in
the sum of £1,498,113million for the refurbishment of Beckton
Community Centre to start in October 2023.
 
Alternatives
Considered
 

1) 
Do Nothing - Not recommended.  The Centre would fall into disrepair, cost more to
refurbish in the future and ultimately may need to close for a
longer period until funding is secured and the works are
completed.
 

2) 
Different procurement route/cost and
quality split - Not recommended.  The
procurement route was discussed with the Strategic Procurement Team
who recommended the proposed procurement route to achieve
competitive bids and best value.
