Decision

For the reason set out in
the report and its appendices Cabinet RESOLVED to AGREE:
 
i) 
That the draft SEND and Inclusion
Strategy as set out in Appendix 1 progresses to statutory public
consultation;
 
ii) 
To note the engagement undertaken with
local stakeholders in the co-design of the Strategy and that the
final version of the strategy would return to Cabinet for formal
approval following public consultation; and

 

iii) 
To note that the Council and NHS NEL ICB
will be responsible for the delivery of the Strategy once approved
by Cabinet, through the Newham SEND Executive Board

Considered
 

i) 
Alternatives were not considered as the
Council is committed to delivering, across the local area partnership, to ensure that children
and young people with SEND are able to learn, achieve and thrive
within local settings and communities to enable them to lead happy and fulfilling
lives.
