About

The Cabinet is responsible for carrying out all council functions not assigned to other parts of the council by law or the Function Scheme. Chaired by the Leader of the Council, it comprises seven Portfolio Holders, each overseeing specific council areas. The Cabinet's decision-making is limited by the Council's overall Budget and Policy Framework; any decisions outside this framework require full Council approval. Its role is further detailed in Section Five of the Council's Constitution.
