The Adults, Health and Care Cabinet Member is responsible for strategic leadership and decision-making in areas related to adult social care, health integration, and community development. This includes overseeing adult social care services as defined by relevant legislation, ensuring professional standards and safeguarding, and commissioning integrated health and social care. The role also involves promoting a sustainable care market, championing vulnerable adults and carers, and addressing housing needs for vulnerable individuals, including homelessness prevention. The Cabinet Member also approves statements of purpose for regulated care provision and receives statutory complaints reports.
