This includes public protection matters such as Trading Standards, water and food safety, environmental protection, licensing, and animal and housing standards.

The Cabinet Member also oversees performance management for leisure, outdoor activities, sports, and positive activities, and jointly leads on markets and community investment in leisure and culture assets. They are involved in delivering the remodelled Baysgarth House Community Museum and promoting library functions, culture, heritage, and arts, including Normanby Hall, within specific rural wards.
