The Finance and Governance Cabinet Member is responsible for key executive decisions relating to the council's financial operations, governance, and related services. This includes overseeing financial services such as accounting, budgeting, internal audit, and procurement, as well as the collection of council tax and NNDR, and the administration of housing benefit and local council tax support. The Cabinet Member also holds responsibility for information governance, ICT, democratic services, legal services, and arrangements for coroner's, local land charges, and registration services. Specific delegated powers include consultation on writing off significant debtor accounts, approving discretionary rate relief, and approving substantial changes to the capital programme.
