About

The Independent Families - Children Cabinet Member is responsible for executive decision-making and strategic leadership across a wide range of children's services in North Lincolnshire. This includes statutory responsibilities for children's services, driving high educational standards, particularly for disadvantaged groups, and overseeing children's social care, adoption, and fostering.

The committee also handles children's safeguarding, early help, family support, and youth justice. It has specific delegated powers to approve the schools and early years funding formula, local admissions arrangements, and the appointment of school governors and education appeals panel members. The committee's work directly impacts children, young people, and families within the North Lincolnshire area.
