To award the contract for the Provision of Air Quality Data Services to Air Quality Data Management (AQDM) for commencement 17 May 2025.

Reasons for the decision

The contract would meet the needs of the Environment and Public Protection Service Area by enabling air quality data acquisition, management, ratification, reporting and website hosting. The decision complies with the requirement to review air quality as prescribed within the Environment Act 2021 (amended).

Alternative options considered

To not award the contract to the preferred provider. This option would put the council in breach of the Council's Contract Procedure Rules and place the council at risk of challenge from the providers who tendered for the service.
Not awarding the contract would leave the council without the appropriate tools to meet our requirement under the Environment Act 2021 for air quality.
