Decision

To approve a Wayleave over The Peat Works Crowle to Quickline Communications Limited, in accordance with section 6.6 of the council's approved scheme of delegations to officers and appointment of proper officers.

Reasons for the decision

The installation of underground apparatus will not affect the existing or future use of the land. Furthermore, our tenant will have continued access to telephone and internet services after 2025 when the landline is terminated. Approval of the Wayleave will allow Quickline to meet the requirements of the government's 'Project Gigabit' broadband investment and fulfil its legal obligations.

Alternative options considered

Not to approve the Wayleave and and wait until Quickline Communications Limited obtains an Order from the Lands Tribunal conferring the rights it needs.
