Decision
Grant of Lease - Units 2, 3 & 4, Plot 11a
Sunningdale Road, Scunthorpe, in accordance with section 6.6 of the
council's approved scheme of delegations to officers and
appointment of proper officers.
Reasons for the decision
The terms agreed in principle for the new
lease are considered to be the best achievable in the current
uncertain economic climate. It would also avoid potential costs as
highlighted in 4.2 below.
Alternative options considered
To not grant a lease at the terms agreed in
principle. Not granting the lease would mean Unit 2 would remain
vacant until an alternative suitable tenant could be found, via
re-marketing to let, incurring costs associated with a void
property. There would also be the risk that the current tenant of
Units 3 & 4 would vacate its existing units due to size
constraints, resulting in a void unit and further loss of income to
the PTA.
