To award the contract for Lot 11-240, Belton
Carriageway Resurfacing 2025-2026 to the preferred
bidder.

Reasons for the decision

The submitted rates were considered and
checked against those submitted for similar works for this
financial year and were deemed comparable allowing for inflation
and changes to material costs.

Alternative options considered

To not award the contract to the preferred
provider. This option would put the council in breach f Procurement
Regulations and the council would incur further costs for the
re-procurement of this service and would place the council at high
risk of a challenge from the providers who tendered for this
service.
