To approve the purchase of new LED stage
lighting, to replace high-energy tungsten fixtures at the Baths
Hall, following an open procurement.

Reasons for the decision

To enable the council to take advantage of the
substantial energy savings on offer, bringing considerable
financial and environmental savings, while modernising the lighting
used in performances at the Baths Hall.

Alternative options considered

To continue without procuring this lighting,
which would not only mean having to return a large portion of the
assigned grant monies, but the venue lighting will still need
urgent upgrade due to age, so a considerable outlay would still be
required over the coming years.
