To approve the re-procurement process for Event Security at the theatre venues.

Reasons for the decision

The current contract came to an end on 31 May 2026, and ongoing security provision is required to maintain public safety and assurance. A compliant competitive procurement exercise needs to be undertaken to identify a suitable provider.

Alternative options considered

To go ahead with events, without any security provision in place. Rejected as this would leave venues without adequate security services and leave the public and staff vulnerable to incidents of anti-social behaviour.
