To approve the draft scheme for concessionary fares reimbursement for publication.

Reasons for the decision

The “Draft Scheme” for concessionary follows the DfT guidance. The draft scheme has to be published by 1 December. This allows an opportunity for transport operators and affected residents to comment prior to final publication of scheme arrangements at the beginning of March – 28 days before the scheme starts on April 1st.

Alternative options considered

Not approving the Draft concessionary fares scheme for publication - this would leave the council without a method of reimbursing bus and rail operators for concessionary bus passes.
