For the Director of Communities to approve North Lincolnshire Council enter into a procurement for a controlled access parking system in the Parishes Multi Story Car Park.

Reasons for the decision

The procurement of a controlled access parking system in the Parishes Multi Story Car Park will support the delivery of the wider Town Fund programme for Scunthorpe. It will also look to reduce Anti-Social behaviour and crime within the Multi Story.

As such funding has been secured from the Shared Prosperity Fund, The Community Safety Partnership, The Council Capital Fund and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner.

Alternative options considered

To not approve the entering into a procurement exercise for a controlled access parking system in the Parishes. This would not address the current Anti-Social Behaviour issues with in the Multi Story Car park, currently being experienced.

Programme delays pose risks to the delivery of interventions within the agreed programme and deadlines set by the funders.
