Decision

To approve the commencement of a procurement
process for Event Security at the theatre venues and for NLC
events.

Reasons for the decision

Current supplier has given notice that they no
longer have the capacity to effectively fulfil our contract.
Ongoing security provision is required to maintain public safety
and assurance. A compliant competitive procurement exercise needs
to be undertaken to identify a suitable provider.

Alternative options considered

To go ahead with events, without any security
provision in place. Rejected as this would leave venues without
adequate security services and leave the public and staff
vulnerable to incidents of anti-social behaviour
