Contract Award for Business Travel.

Reasons for the decision

The current contract for business travel
expires on 31 July 2023. The Authority needs a solution which is
easily accessible and manageable for booking of trains, underground
tickets, ferries, flights and hotels. A benchmarking exercise was
conducted of all available National Framework in line with the
council’s contract procedure rules. The contract can be
mobilised within the council’s timeframe. The platform is the
same as is used now reducing the need to train facilities
management staff and will ensure a seamless transition. The system
can facilitate all the councils’ requirements. Administration
and booking fees are competitive. The travel system can provide
detailed management information regarding the sustainability impact
of all travel, to help understand performance and drive
improvement. This information can assist the council to meet its
carbon net zero ambitions.

Alternative options considered

There is no alternative option using this
framework. The YPO framework evaluation does not meet the
procurement standards.
