To permit a procurement exercise to take
place, to find a suitable new supplier for security services for
theatre venues.

Reasons for the decision

Current supplier has given notice that they no
longer have the capacity to effectively fulfil our contract.
Ongoing security provision is required to maintain public safety
and assurance.

There are a limited number of Event Security suppliers in the UK,
and we require a company whose staff are either local to the venues
or willing to travel.

Decision is to permit a procurement exercise to take place, to find
a suitable new supplier for security services, in line with NLC
contract procedure rules.

Alternative options considered

To go ahead with events, without any security
provision in place.

Rejected as this would leave venues without adequate security
services and leave the public and staff vulnerable to incidents of
anti-social behaviour.
