Content
a)
That the proportionality rules applied be approved
(as detailed in Appendix A to the report);
b)
That the appointments to the governance structure
made by the recognised political groups be noted (as detailed in
Appendix B to the report);
c)
That the existing
delegated authority granted to the Monitoring Officer to make any
in-year changes to the membership of committees on behalf of the
Council, in consultation with the leaders of the recognised political groups, be noted;
d)
That delegated
authority be granted to the Monitoring Officer to commence
recruitment to any vacancies arising for independent persons,
co-opted members of the Democracy and Standards Committee, co-opted
members of the Audit and Governance Committee and members of the
Independent Remuneration Panel for Members Allowances, the
appointments of which will be subject to approval at a future
meeting of Council;

That delegated authority be granted to the
Monitoring Officer to update the Constitution to reflect the
Council and Executive changes arising from the
appointments.

in accordance with law and approved guidelines contained in the
Council Constitution.

revised political balance calculation is required to be reported to
full Council under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 and
Local Government (Committees and Political Groups) Regulations
1990.
