Decision

Grant a Licence to allow North
Northamptonshire Council to use the land owned by Heidelberg
(Hanson
Quarry Products Europe).

Reason/s for
Decision

Kier Transportation Ltd working on
behalf of North Northamptonshire Council have requested the use of
the Heidelberg (Hanson Quarry Products
Europe) adjacent to Station
Road, Earls Barton. The land comprises concrete entrance, lockable
and a solid concrete slab area, suitable for car parking and
compound/material storage throughout the duration of the
replacement of NNC Ref. 3122 - White Mills Bridge.

Alternative
options considered and rejected

Due to the limited working width
of the site, it is not possible to safely situate the compound,
welfare, storage and office facilities within the highway boundary,
therefore the land adjacent to the North-East corner of the bridge
is nearest suitable site compound. The are to the south of the
bridge is prone to flooding and therefore unsuitable for plant
machinery/traffic.
