Purpose

Executive welcomes the funding and support to
be provided to three local communities in North Northants through
the Government’s Pride in Place Programme, notes the
associated accountable body responsibilities which will fall to the
Council, and agrees related actions and delegations

RESOLVED

 

KEY DECISION

 

That the Executive:

 

a)      
Agreed that the Council takes on
the associated Accountable Body responsibilities for the Pride in
Place Programme and the three local communities in North
Northamptonshire for funding and support through the Pride in Place
Programme.

 

b)      
Delegated authority to the
Executive Director for Adults, Health Partnerships & Housing in
consultation with the Executive Director for Finance &
Performance and the Leader of the Council to sign any funding
agreements, contracts or other documents relating to the Pride in
Place Programme and accountable body role.

 

c)       
Delegated authority to the
Executive Director for Adults, Health Partnerships & Housing,
in consultation with the Executive Director for Finance &
Performance, the Leader of the Council, and the local MP to appoint
a Chair for each area, and then in consultation with the Chair,
Leader of the Council, and MP form the respective Neighbourhood
Board

 

d)      
Agreed that the Leader of the
Council nominates a local Ward Councillor for each Neighbourhood
Board

 

e)      
Agreed related next steps and
actions set out in Section 6 of this report.

 

 

Reason for Recommendations –
To confirm the Council’s support for the Pride in Place
Programme and to secure the funding for this area.

 

Alternative Options Considered
– The Council is the only democratically elected body that is
equipped and able to take on the Accountable Body role for the
Pride in Place Programme in North Northamptonshire therefore no
alternative options have been considered.
