As per the decision made by
Executive on the 19th
December 2024, authority has been
delegated to the Executive Director of Adults, Health Partnerships
and housing, in consultation with the Executive Member for Housing
and Communities, to conclude the procurement in line with the
council’s contract procedure rules.

The decision has been made to
award the Sheltered Housing Alarm contract to Careium UK Ltd and
proceed with contract signing.

Reasons for the decision

Following the completion of a
procurement exercise, in line with the council’s contract
procedure rules, Careium emerged as the preferred supplier with the
highest overall scoring.

The solution will address the
issue of an ageing technology infrastructure, and ensures people
remain safe as independent as possible.

The solutions proposed are in line
with the Council’s strategy to modernise public
services.

Existing contracts for Alarm
monitoring, and wider Housing out of hours call monitoring, have
expired and require renewal in line with the Council’s
contract procedure rules.

The council is required to modernise its
Sheltered Alarm offer as a result of the National switchover of
telephone lines from Analogue to Digital.
