Reasons for the decision

The current Adult Health Improvement services across North Northamptonshire are due to expire on the 31st March 2027.

North Northamptonshire Council has a statutory responsibility under the Health and Social Care Act 2012 and 2013 to reduce health inequalities and improve the health and wellbeing of its residents.

The current delivery model is fragmented, with multiple single services operating independently rather than through an integrated approach. Performance across these services has been variable, with limitations in data, inconsistent outcomes, and gaps in addressing health inequalities, highlighting the need for a more robust and accountable commissioning approach.

Commissioning a new integrated service provides the opportunity to deliver a more holistic, flexible and tiered model, with multiple access routes and improved outcomes for residents.

Commissioning under the Provider Selection Regime ensures compliance with current legislation and provides a transparent and proportionate route to market.

The tender will be open from 17 June to 29 July 2026. Evaluation will take place between 5 and 14 August 2026, followed by moderation from 1 to 3 September 2026. Provider presentations and interviews are scheduled for 14 to 16 September 2026.
