To request that Executive consider and approve the Council’s Strategic Asset Management Plan.

RESOLVED:

KEY DECISION

That the Executive:

a)     Approved the Strategic Asset Management Plan.

b)     Delegated authority to the Director of Assets and Environment to progress the Plans implementation in consultation with the Executive Member for Assets, Waste & Environmental Services.

Reasons for Recommendations – The recommendations:

•         Fulfilled the requirement of the Local Authority Asset Management Framework.

•         Provided a framework to effectively manage, review and develop its land and property assets to support service delivery, financial sustainability, inclusive growth, environmental commitments and the needs of residents and communities.

•         Aligned to the Council’s corporate plan.

•         Used sound and appropriate data to inform recommendations and future decisions.

Alternative Options Considered:

The alternative option was not to have a Strategic Asset Management Plan. This option was rejected as it did not align with best practice for asset management across Local Authorities and Government.
