Decision

RESOLVED that the Audit and Governance Committee:

a)      Notes the content and recommendations of the LGCSO’s and HoS annual review letters, including the outcomes of their investigations completed in the year 2025/26 that relate to North Northamptonshire Council

b)      Approves the self-assessment against the HOS Complaint Handling Code as the governing body responsible for complaints and provide a response to be published on the council’s website

c)      Approves the content and recommendations of the Annual Landlord Complaints and Service Improvement report, Appendix C, which helps monitor compliance with the Code and provide details on how the council are improving complaint handling practices for residents.

d)      Notes the direction issued by the Monitoring Officer for all Ombusman (LSGSCO and HoS) complaints and outcomes to be reported as set out at paragraph 6.5.

Reason for Decisions: To ensure correct scrutiny and oversight of corporate complaint handling performance and to meet the requirements of the Complaint Handling Code. This supports accountability and transparency, which are integral to a positive organisational culture of complaint handling.
