Decision

RESOLVED that: The Corporate Scrutiny Committee:

i. Notes the performance of the Council as measured by the available indicators as at Period 3 (Q1) 2026/27.

ii. Identifies items for further detailed scrutiny or recommends to another committee to do so.

iii. Requests that the Chief Executive write to the Ministry of Justice, with input from relevant officers, outlining the financial and practical impact on the Council of young people being remanded into local authority care whilst awaiting progression through the criminal justice system.
