Reasons for the decision

The report to Executive on the 20th January 2026 set out and agreed the approach for progressing the North Northamptonshire Local Plan Timetable following reforms to the plan making system.

Delegated authority was given to the Executive Director of Place in consultation with the Executive Member for Planning and Economic Growth (and where appropriate, seeking the views of the Local Plan Member Advisory Group), to: prepare and update the Local Plan timetable; prepare and undertake a scoping consultation; and prepare and submit a Gateway 1 self-assessment of readiness for plan making.

A timetable for the North Northamptonshire Local Plan was published on 27th April 2026. It is a statutory requirement for a local planning authority to prepare, publish and maintain a local plan timetable, and the timetable has been updated following the Local Plan Scoping consultation and publication of the revised NPPF.
