RESOLVED
KEY DECISION
That the Executive:
a)
Accepted into the budget the five-year Smoke Free
Generation grant funding awarded to the Public Health team and
agreed to it being spent in accordance with the grant restrictions
to support reducing smoking prevalence in North Northamptonshire as
set out in this report.
b)
Delegated authority to the Executive Member for
Adults, Health
and Wellbeing in consultation with the Director of Public Health
and Wellbeing to undertake the commissioning, procurement and award
of the contracts which form part of the Stop Smoking Service for
residents of North Northamptonshire.
Reason for Recommendations: approval of these recommendations
will support the Council to meet its strategic health targets, as
addressing smoking is a system and local priority.
Alternative Options Considered: A report has been considered by
the Public Health Senior Management Team that explored options for
the expansion of the stop smoking service. The proposed model was
considered the most effective use of resources to meet the targets
set in the terms of the grant agreement.
