RESOLVED
KEY DECISION
That
the Executive adopted the Street Naming and Numbering Policy as set
out at Appendix A to the report, subject to the addition of
the following clause at paragraph 6.22 of the policy
document:-
“Notwithstanding paragraphs 6.10 and 6.11, where it is
thought exceptional circumstances may exist from time to time, the
request to deviate from this policy must be submitted to and
approved by the Leader, Executive Lead Member for Growth and
Regeneration and Executive Director for Place and
Economy”
Reason for Recommendations – To accord with legislation
and ensure the Council is operating a consistent approach to
allocating street naming and numbering across the whole of the
North Northamptonshire area.
Alternative Options Considered – To continue to maintain
an inconsistent approach to street naming and numbering, resulting
in disparities across the area in terms of the quality and costs of
the service provided dependent upon location of development, and
the approach adopted previously. This inconsistency has a negative
impact on the service as a whole, plus the introduction of a
consistent service gives a stronger justification to charge for the
service to cover service costs.
