About

The Local Plan Committee is responsible for reviewing and commenting on the council's development plans, including the Local Plan, Supplementary Planning Documents, and HS2 strategy. It considers draft revisions, policy options, and evidence supporting these documents. The committee also monitors progress on updates and provides information to other council members.

It has delegated decision-making powers to instruct the Executive on drafts, publish documents for public consultation, submit them for examination, and adopt Supplementary Planning Documents. The committee also advises on responses to plans from other authorities, Neighbourhood Plans, government consultations, and the Community Infrastructure Levy, recommending adoption where appropriate.
