Purpose

An order was placed with a contractor for the
value of £899k to carry out a detailed program of works that
needs to be completed prior to the school opening in September
2024.
 
Failure to carry out these works would result
in the school not being able to operate to full capacity, this also
ensures the school meets its statutory obligation for Fire Safety
and other H&S works.
 
All costs associated to the project are part
of the SSMP grant funding allocation.
 
 

Content

Decision was made to carry out urgent works at
Woodeaton Manor school following the recent Ofsted report
highlighting numerous issues with site security and safety.
 

Reasons for the decision

Due to the urgency of the works and the short
timescales required it  was agreed an exception report was the most
appropriate route to follow as to specify, procure and mobilize a
project of such complexity would have taken several months.
