drafting the final agreements, it has been identified that the
funding agreed needs to be amended.

Approve an amendment to the funding agreed in
recommendation C in the report presented to Cabinet on 15 July
2025

Reasons for the decision

To enable the school to convert to academy
status on 1 October 2025 the council is required to have completed
all agreements by the end of August 2025 to enable these to be
signed sufficiently in advance of the conversion and in line with
Department for Education (DfE) deadlines.
 

Alternative options considered

The funding agreement needs to be amended so
that academisation can take place as planned.  Any other option would mean that the academisation
is delayed leading to further additional costs and
uncertainty.
