Purpose
The reason for coming to the meetings is to
invite Oxfordshire County Council's Cabinet to approve and adopt
the first Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) for Oxfordshire.
The LNRS seeks approval to launch the final map tool and strategy
documents online to the public.
The strategy sets out targeted, recommended locations to focus
upcoming nature recovery actions in Oxfordshire. The goal of the
strategy is to produce a shared vision of nature recovery with
partners across Oxfordshire and to use the documents and mapped
areas to drive a more joined-up delivery of local nature recovery
actions. If delivered, this would creating a more resilient network
of nature in Oxfordshire with great benefits for both people and
wildlife. The preparation and production of this strategy is a
statutory duty for Oxfordshire County Council through the
Environment Act 2021.
