Purpose

The current City Centre Public
Spaces Protection Order expires on 27 April 2026. Proposed
variations before renewal will be for conditions relating to
alcohol and ASB, and it is also proposed that these conditions are
varied in the Millfield, New England, Eastfield & Embankment
PSPO at the same time to prevent displacement and
disparity.

Decision

Cabinet RESOLVED to:

1. Authorise the variation and
extension of the City Centre Public Spaces Protection Order
included at Appendix B covering the area as shown in the map
included at Appendix C for 3 years.

2. Authorise the variation of the
Millfield, New England, Eastfield and Embankment Public Spaces
Protection Order included at Appendix E covering the area as shown
in the map included at Appendix F.

3. Delegate authority to the
Executive Director Place and Economy and Director of Legal &
Governance and Monitoring Officer to take all necessary steps to
implement the decisions in Recommendation 1 and
2.
