June 23, 2026 Cabinet (Cabinet collective) Key decision Approved View on council websiteFull council record
Purpose
The current contract for the purchase and supply of laptops expires on 31st March 2026. We are intending to go to procurement for another three years (Apr 2026 to Mar 2029) and then require authority to award that contract due to its value.
Decision
Cabinet unanimously RESOLVED to:
- Delegate the authority to award a contract relating to the supply of laptop devices and associated services to the Executive Director of Corporate Services and s151 Officer, subject to approval from procurement, legal and financial services up to an annual value of £200,000 and a total value of £800,000 for a term of 4 years
- Authorise the Executive Director of Corporate Services and s151 Officer to approve contract variations that may be required during the term of the contract in consultation with the Director of Law and Governance (or authorised officer’s).
Alternative options considered
Peterborough City Council would be less able to gain economies of scale if they went out to tender on their own. Procuring with CCC enables PCC to obtain value for money.
This option, we believe is the best option for PCC and should be reflected in the final per unit cost.
