RESOLVED that the Education and Children’s Services Committee:
a) NOTED the background and context to falling school rolls, the activity undertaken to date, and the approach that will be taken to school organisation moving forward.
b) DELEGATED AUTHORITY to the Executive Director of Children’s Services in consultation with the Chair of the Education and Children’s Services Committee to take forward any school organisation proposals to pre-statutory consultation for those schools deemed at risk following a sustainability assessment and discussions with school leaders.
c) COMMITED to receive a further report in late autumn 2026 reporting the outcome of any pre-statutory consultation to seek approval to progress to statutory consultation on any school organisation deemed necessary.
