Purpose

A report on the lease extension of Hampton and
Richmond Football Club.

RESOLVED:
 
The Finance Policy and Resources
Committee:
 
a) 
Agreed to grant an Agreement for Lease to the
Hampton and Richmond Borough Football Club (HRBFC) which is an
agreement that legally obliges the Council to grant the new lease
to the club upon completion of the proposed works.
 
b) 
Agreed to grant a new lease of 125 years on the
principal terms set out in this report to HRBFC, once it completes
all the proposed improvements to the property.
 
c) 
Agreed to extend the parking and practice pitch
licences for a period of 125 years to make them coterminous with
the term of the new lease.
 
d) 
Delegated to the Assistant Director (Property
Services), in consultation with the Chair of the Finance Policy and
Resources Committee, the authority to proceed with the grant of the
new lease on such terms as considered reasonable, even if the
football club is unable to secure planning consent for some of the
proposed works.
 
e) 
Authorised the Assistant Director (Property
Services) to agree such other terms of the lease as are in the best
financial interest of the Council.
