Purpose

To note progress on the delivery of electric
vehicle chargepoints and agree future plans

RESOLVED that the Transport & Air
Quality Committee
 
 
i. 
Note progress with the delivery of a programme of 525 lamp
column-based electric vehicle chargepoints in 2023, as described in
paragraphs 4.1-4.5 and Appendix 1;
 
ii. 
Note proposals to secure a chargepoint operator to take over
operation and maintenance of existing lamp column chargepoint sites
when contracts with Siemens plc expire in 2024 and 2025;
 
iii. 
Approve additional electric vehicle only bays at lamp column
chargepoint sites as described in section 6;
 
iv. 
Note the forthcoming availability of LEVI (Local Electric Vehicle
Infrastructure) funding and endorse the approach of using the fund
to procure a range of different chargepoint types;
 
v. 
Note Transport for London’s proposals for additional rapid
chargepoints in Richmond as described in paragraph 8.1; and
 
vi. 
Note progress with a trial of cable gullies that allow home-based
charging without trailing cables over footpaths, as described in
paragraphs 9.1-9.3.
